Stream of Consciousness Sunday - When should we celebrate Halloween?

Today I am joining Fadra from All Things Fadra for her 5 minute brain dump otherwise know as Stream of Consciousness Sunday.

When I was a kid, I don't remember it being difficult to decide when Halloween was.  It was ALWAYS on October 31st.  It never matter if that was a Tuesday night or a Saturday night.  No one cared if the kids had school the next day of if they were calling for a downpour.  You donned your plastic, store bought costume or the one your mom made for you and out you went for a night of collecting candy.

It really perturbs me to no end that people debate the date Halloween should be celebrated each year now.  In fact there is one state that has a lawmaker that wants to make it the last Saturday of each October. (Ahem, Connecticut.)  Really?  Is this necessary? We don't change any other holiday.  People need to relax and just go with it. Stop trying to over manage everything!  It's Halloween for crying out loud.  Get out there and have some fun.... on a MONDAY night.  Eat too much candy from your kids bucket, stay up late and go back into work on Tuesday.  Oh the horror!

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…
  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes only.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post.
  • Link up your post on Fadra's Site.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.
